Education holds the key to breaking the cycle of poverty. It is essential to build a firm foundation on which an individual can build a secure future. Our education projects now cover a wide variety of approaches to education, including traditional schooling methods as well as specialised vocational training

Traditional school education is provided in places where there is none, or vocational where learning becomes part of community development activities to supplement or make existing education easier and more effective. However, all education projects aim to create awareness about the importance of learning in the local communities and thereby are an important vehicle for people to become independent and self-empowered.

Skills training coupled with providing some initial finance for the newly trained graduates plays an important role in both giving individuals’ hope and skills and providing the local community with a push for new and better products or services. ORFACT’s role in skills training is about providing the equipment, materials and trainers required for a specific trade. Upon successful completion of a course ORFACT, will often help and provide small interest-free loans or grants to help the business start-up

By providing people with the skills to help them help themselves, Orfact is working to create self-sufficiency amongst the poorer members of the community. Our wide variety of programs included the establishment of carpentry and sewing workshops, providing vocational training alongside other income generating projects.

Education forms the foundation for all human progress. It is the most effective means by which people can escape poverty and secure a brighter future.
