The Global Peace and Unity Event is always a fantastic weekend for ORFACT. The ORFACT team does incredibly well not just in collecting money, but also in helping to raise awareness of the plight of orphans worldwide.

Al-Zara Orphanage

The Dar al-Zara orphanage was opened in Basra, the first of its kind in the whole of Iraq. The orphanage accepts all children who have lost their parents, or whose mother can no longer provide financial and emotional care for them. It has grown strength to strength, and now houses for over 200 orphans, who are provided with food, clothing, and education. All children are housed in a safe, loving environment and given emotional stability to ensure they grow-up to be integrated, supportive members of their community.

Al-Zara Orphanage Workshops

Orfact’s role in skills training is about providing the equipment, materials and trainers required for a specific trade. Upon successful completion of a course Orfact, will often help and provide small interest-free loans or grants to help the business start-up By providing people with the skills to help them help themselves, Orfact is working to create self-sufficiency amongst the poorer members of the community.
